We have many ways to improve our overall life. One of these ways can be through writing. Many people think of writing as something that only professional authors do. The fact is, writing is something for everyone. If you can put pen to paper or punch letters on a keyboard, then writing you can do. The technique is widely used by people working toward making personal transformations through self-development.

You can improve your writing skills, communication, and your ability to take charge of the emotions. In fact, writing can help build your self-worth, which in turns builds your confidence.

 

Writing promotes subliminal learning.

By this I mean that you can express your feelings and thoughts openly without feeling like you’re going to be judged, you can then analyze your expressions to decide what must be done to correct problems that hold you back from success.

You don’t have to be a literary journalist, author or a professional writer to be able to do this, you just need a little time to write down your feelings and thoughts on paper. Once the thoughts and feelings are in writing, you can take a moment or two to analyze what you have written.

Writing can also be a form of meditation and self-talk that encourages you to work through the self-development processes. You can write down whatever is going through your mind, whatever’s troubling you, without upsetting anyone. It gets shit off your chest! Therapy without having to leave the comfort of your home. I think I spend close to 7hours a day jotting things down and I think if a lot of people read some of the stuff that I have written over the years, they’d think I was damn near crazy. Maybe I was…reading over some of my thoughts from months, even years ago, I might have thought the same thing.

Throughout the years, many have used writing as a therapeutic and psychotherapy solution for healing the mind. Once you heal the mind, the brain and body works in harmony more readily. It will improve your health as well as your emotional and mental ways of living. Writing will ease some of the stress from suppressed memories. You will find relief that helps you to manage your life effectively by writing each day. Writing will also help you build your vocabulary skills and will open your mind to new ideas.

Writing will also assist you with cultivating many skills. You can also start to build effective communication skills since writing will help you express your emotions without feeling overwhelmed.

If you are ready to make positive transformations that build your self-worth, it is time to get that pen and paper in motion. You can also keep a journal on your computer, which the writing may be more legible. Some people feel interrupted by computers, so if this is you, perhaps the old fashion way is the best solution to work toward a better tomorrow.

It will make your life much easier to manage through the process of self-development. You have nothing to lose.   1. Writing can definitely be therapeutic. When I wanted to cut back on my alcohol intake I did a diary/blog… it didn’t bother me if no one read it, but with the few reader I had, I had some people I didn’t want to let down and it made me stick to my goals. Writing down my thoughts, fears, hardships and happiness was very helpful.

  2. Yes, writing is good for soul and mind:I do yoga too and meditation but I still love to write. Feels so good. Thanks for the reminder, I should do it again every day. Even if it’s just two minutes.

  3. I am a huge fan of writing as a way of precessing emotions. Sometimes all we need is the space to express what we are really feeling in order to know what we want to do and that can be immensely beneficial to physical health.

  4. I mostly write so I don’t forget things. And that’s a great stress reliever for me. I used to journal and I remember loving that. I should really pick it up again!

  5. I have always been a writer. In fact all growing up, my grandma always gave me journals for Christmas and my birthday. If I was stressed, I would write. It’s great therapy!

  6. Writing for me is one of the things that help me relax. It’s a great outlet especially when you’re under a lot of stress. These are awesome reasons to write especially when you’re seeking to improve yourself.

  7. This is so true writing is definitely great as self therapy I believe sometimes when you cannot share how you feel or what you feel the best you can do is out it down on paper and for sure you will feel nice. Great post! Thanks for sharing

  8. When I was a teenager I used to write a lot in an online journal and it was a great way to express myself and go over the daily issues much easier. While you write, you also analyse the situations you’ve been through and it gives you a clearer mind on how to deal with them and find solutions to your problems.
